Re-Iced

Last night was nephew Maxx's birthday ice-skating party. Mike decided to play it safe and avoid the crowded rink, but I dusted off my hockey gear and got on the ice for the first time in about three years. Even with the light skating I did, I felt just how out of shape I am! Surprisingly though, I wasn't sore today like I thought I'd be.
It was great to get back on the ice, and it shows you just don't realize how much you miss it until you return after a long absence. It all comes back quickly -- the smell of the rink, the chatter, the sounds of blades on the ice. I might have to find a way to make time again for that once-all-consuming hobby....

There were some talented 10-year-olds out there!

Come on, you remember, Karen!

Where's the five hole?!
