Another summer first for me was Atlantic City. On August 22, Mark and I drove down to the Atlantic City area for a concert featuring Charlie Worsham, Randy Houser, Leah Turner and headliner Brad Paisley. I have often said that Brad Paisley is the only singer/songwriter who is able to make me both laugh and cry hysterically with his poignant songs. Amazing. The show also featured soon-to-be "Rising Star" winner, and Long Island native, Jesse Kinch. Interesting aside: Jesse's mother, a registered nurse, visited my grandpa during a home visit over the summer. Small world!
The day after the concert, Mark and I spent the day in Atlantic City, soaking in the boardwalk, sampling the casinos, and seeing the "Cirque du Soleil" spinoff, "Varekie." We also spent some time along the Jersey Shore, remembering how hard it was hit during Superstorm Sandy.
